Even Graham Is Finding The Trump Dossier Questionable

Lindsey Graham makes ‘disturbed’ announcement about fake Trump dossier – crime uncovered?
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) may have confirmed something attentive Americans have suspected for a while now.
Graham told Fox News that he has new information about the now-infamous Trump Dossier, composed of discredited information compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, that makes him “very concerned.”
“What I saw and what I’ve gathered in the last couple days bothers me a lot,” Graham said, “and I’d like somebody outside [the Department of Justice] to look into how this dossier was handled and what they did with it.”
Graham’s comments have some wondering whether the dossier was used in the creation of the 2016 Foreign Intelligence Service Act (FISA) warrant that allowed the FBI and Justice Department to surveil — or wiretap — the Trump transition team in 2016.

“This cannot be the new normal”

While Graham did not explicitly accuse any individual of criminal activity, he implied that something was wrong with the way the dossier has been used in court — possibly in reference to the FISA warrant.
“I’ve been a lawyer most of my life — a prosecutor and a defense attorney — and the one thing I can say, every prosecutor has a duty to the court to disclose things that are relevant to the request,” Graham said. He continued:
So any time a document is used to go to court, for legal reasons, I think the Department of Justice owes it to the court to be up-and-up about exactly what this document is about, who paid for it, whose involved, what their motives might be. And I can just say this, after having looked at the history of the dossier and how it was used by the Department of Justice, I’m really very concerned, and this cannot be the new normal.
Graham also said that he feels the appointment of another special prosecutor may be in order to investigate how the Justice Department — and Robert Mueller’s team — used the discredited “opposition research” dossier.

Graham told Fox:
I’m very disappointed about what the Department of Justice did with this dossier, and we need a special counsel to look into that, because that’s not in [Robert] Mueller’s charter.

Implications?

Donald Trump first brought attention to this issue earlier this year, when he took to Twitter to tell the American public that he’d been spied on — a claim that was dismissed initially, though evidence has surfaced that suggests the president was correct.

If it is true that the dossier was used in the granting of the FISA warrant, the Obama administration used false, misleading, or contrived information as a resource to bolster claim that they needed to wiretap Donald Trump in 2016.
While the implications of this are not yet fully known, it is likely that any “evidence” found via these wiretaps could be ruled inadmissible.

The Justice Department and FBI have reportedly yet to make any official comment on the issue.
At this point, it’s only a matter of time before Mueller’s entire Russia collusion investigation goes down in flames. Graham’s comments are just another piece in this disturbing puzzle.
